HSBC Adds UK Office Space in Canary Wharf
London-based HSBC has signed a new lease in a Canary Wharf office, in a move to address the lack of space in its planned new headquarters.
HSBC has signed a 15-year lease for a 210,000 square foot space in the Canary Wharf Group’s Bank Street building, according to a «Reuters» report.
The move was made due to insufficient space at its planned new headquarters at 81 Newgate Street near St Paul’s Cathedral, relocating from the 45-floor 8 Canada Square.
According to a separate memo, the British lender said that it will move staff into the new office from early 2027, adding that it would continue to operate from multiple sites across London to access clients across the city.
