GMO Names Asia Institutional Business Head
GMO has appointed Glenn Tan to lead its institutional business in Asia outside Japan, as the investment manager expands its client base across the region.
Glenn Tan has joined GMO Singapore as head of institutional business, Asia ex-Japan, the firm said in a statement on Tuesday.
He will oversee institutional client engagement and business development across the region, reporting to Zane Bernstein, GMO’s head of client relations for Asia-Pacific.
Nearly Two Decades of Experience
Tan brings close to 20 years of experience in institutional asset management in Asia. He previously served as head of institutional sales for Southeast Asia at PineBridge Investments, now part of MetLife Investment Management, where he led regional client coverage and business development.
Before that, he was institutional business development director at Amova Asset Management.
Expanding Regional Reach
The appointment follows growth in GMO’s institutional business across several Asian markets. According to Bernstein, the firm has built a significant business in Korea, Singapore and Hong Kong and welcomed its first clients from Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia.
«We look forward to Glenn building on this momentum and further strengthening our institutional business across the region,» Bernstein said.
Tan described Singapore as a key hub for institutional investors and said he would work with clients across Asia while supporting GMO’s regional expansion.
