Techcombank Targets Vietnam’s $100 Billion Infrastructure Opportunity

Techcombank is stepping up efforts to connect international capital with Vietnam’s growing investment needs, positioning digital financial infrastructure as a key driver of the country’s next phase of economic growth.

Vietnam Technological and Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Techcombank) has underlined its ambitions to play a central role in mobilising domestic and international capital for Vietnam’s economic development.

The bank co-organised the Vietnam Financial Forum 2026 (VFF 2026), held on July 9 and 10 in Danang. The event brought together more than 350 policymakers and executives from domestic and international financial institutions and companies.

Discussions focused on modernising Vietnam’s capital markets, strengthening the country’s financial infrastructure and improving companies’ access to capital. The government is targeting double-digit economic growth between 2026 and 2030.

Connecting Global Capital

Digital and green finance were among the key themes of the forum. Participants discussed how new technologies and the digital transformation of financial infrastructure could facilitate capital flows and support Vietnamese companies.

In a keynote address, Techcombank CEO Jens Lottner argued that the bank’s role extends beyond traditional financing.

«We are building the digital infrastructure that enables capital, data, and financial services to move seamlessly across the economy,» Lottner said.

According to the CEO, Techcombank aims to become Vietnam’s most trusted financial platform and help allocate domestic and international capital more efficiently to sectors that generate sustainable economic value.

$100 Billion Investment Pipeline

The financing of Vietnam’s rapidly growing infrastructure needs was another major focus of the forum. Techcombank executives and representatives of its ecosystem partners discussed where the next $100 billion of investment could flow.

The discussions covered infrastructure, energy and industrial development as well as ways to mobilise capital from international institutional investors.

Techcombank also highlighted mechanisms for attracting foreign investment and directing international capital towards strategic projects in Vietnam.

Focus on Digital Infrastructure

Lottner said Techcombank was prepared to share its experience in developing digital ecosystems and using data and technology to connect citizens, companies, investors and public services.

The bank has been involved in strategic projects across finance, technology, infrastructure, healthcare, aviation and logistics.

Through its participation in the Vietnam Financial Forum, Techcombank said it aims to contribute its financial resources, technological expertise and international network to the development of a more modern and transparent financial ecosystem.

Techcombank serves around 18 million retail and corporate clients and operates one of Vietnam’s leading digital banking platforms.
