Second Asian Office For Credit Firm
Continuing its Asian expansion push, credit specialist La Trobe Financial has opened a new office in Hong Kong.
The group Executive Director of La Trobe Financial’s (La Trobe) Asia Pacific business, Hung Fei Chan, who joined the firm in 2013, has been appointed to head up the new office.
The Hong Kong office is the second branch that La Trobe has set up in Asia, following on from the establishment of an office in Shanghai in 2009. It also established operations in the Shanghai Free Trade Zone in 2014.
Respected Brand
The business has evolved into a powerhouse with more than 180 staff, offices in Melbourne, Sydney and Shanghai, and a reputation as one of Australia’s most respected independent non-bank brands.
La Trobe said it was «well positioned» to participate in China’s proposed financial market deregulation, and benefit from the opportunities for trade and investment flows between China and Australia.
Hong Kong a Key Pillar
Greg O’Neill, president and CEO of La Trobe stated that Hong Kong, and Asia as a whole, was a key pillar of the company’s international strategy and allowed it to tap into the world’s fastest growing economic region.
«This is the right time to open an office in Hong Kong, Chan’s firsthand experience on the ground and network throughout Asia has played, and will continue to play, a pivotal role to the organisation’s shape and future expansion into the Asian region,» said O'Neill.
