Debt Markets Platform 9fin Expands Into Asia-Pacific
The information platform focused on global debt markets 9fin has officially launched its services across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, marking a significant step in its international expansion.
The move gives credit professionals in APAC access to the company’s integrated platform, which combines real-time news, proprietary data, and advanced analytics across both public and private credit markets it says in a statement.
Meeting Demand in a Shifting Credit Environment
The expansion arrives at a time when APAC’s credit markets are undergoing notable change. Bond issuance has slowed amid geopolitical uncertainty, while private credit activity has gained momentum as companies look beyond traditional financing channels, the company states.
This dynamic has intensified competition between public and private markets, raising the stakes for banks, asset managers, advisory firms, and law practices that rely on timely and accurate credit intelligence.
9fin’s platform aims to address these challenges by offering a unified view of the market. By combining local deal intelligence with a global database and AI-powered tools, users can track developments across bonds, loans, private credit, and distressed debt in one place.
Building a Regional Presence
The company has been scaling its APAC footprint from an initial base in Hong Kong. Its platform in Asia-Pacific includes coverage of more than 1,800 issuers and 16,000 financial instruments, with historical data dating back to 2003.
This depth of coverage has been strengthened by 9fin’s 2025 acquisition of Bond Radar, which expanded its dataset and enhanced its ability to track issuance trends across global markets.
Backed by Global Clients and Fresh Capital
Globally, 9fin already serves more than 300 institutions, including major investment firms such as KKR and Apollo Global Management, as well as BNP Paribas and law firm Kirkland & Ellis.
The APAC launch follows the company’s $170 million Series C funding round in March 2026.
Steven Hunter, CEO and co-founder of 9fin, said the complexity of APAC markets makes access to integrated, high-quality data increasingly critical.
«APAC is a complex region and is becoming even more so as private markets expand and geopolitical volatility increases,» Hunter said. «The region needs a faster, smarter platform covering the full picture across bonds, loans, private credit, and distressed. That’s exactly what 9fin provides.»
