Mizuho to Replace Thousands of Administrative Jobs With AI
Japanese lender Mizuho will look to leverage artificial intelligence to significantly reshape its workforce in the coming decade.
Mizuho Financial Group is planning to tap into the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) and use the emerging technology to replace about 5,000 administrative jobs in Japan.
«We are planning to enhance our earnings capabilities by shifting human resources to our focus areas by fully utilizing AI,» Mizuho said in a statement. «It is not a headcount reduction.»
The Tokyo-based lender houses approximately 15,000 clerical positions and it underlines that affected employees will be transferred to other roles within the company.
