Allianz Opens Vietnam Office for Trade Credit Insurance

The trade credit insurance arm of Allianz has opened its first office in Vietnam to capture opportunities from the Southeast Asian nation’s growing supply chain role.

Allianz Trade has opened a new office in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, to provide trade credit solutions to local exporters, according to a statement.

Despite the threat of high tariffs, the outlook in Vietnam remains positive with its increasing role in global trade and supply chains. According to Allianz Research, the country’s economy is projected to grow by 6.7 percent in 2025, 6.1 percent in 2026 and 6.2 percent in 2027.

13th Location

The new Vietnam office marks the 13th location in Allianz Trade’s portfolio, following increased investments in India in 2023.

«[Vietnam] is a relatively open economy with growth model based on trade; it has transformed into a competitive manufacturing hub in recent years; and it has demonstrated an ongoing shift towards higher value-added sectors,» said Rodrigo Jimenez, regional CEO at Allianz Trade in APAC. «All these justified our move into the country.»

«This expansion reinforces our strong commitment to the Vietnamese market and positions us to better serve our partners and customers. We are dedicated to supporting the trade business here, empowering them to grow with confidence through innovative solutions and tailored support,» added Ly Dao, the newly appointed country manager for Vietnam.
