Lombard Odier Co-Hosts Sustainability Forum in Thailand

Geneva-based Lombard Odier and KAsset co-hosted a forum in Thailand as part of a sustainability agreement that the two signed a year ago.

Lombard Odier and KASIKORN ASSET MANAGEMENT (KAsset), a subsidiary of Kasikornbank (KBank), co-organized a forum in Bangkok entitled «Decoding Global Sustainability Practices: The Implications for Thailand», according to a statement.

The half-day event was attended by speakers from the financial, corporate, academic and public sectors. It included a workshop on an overview of the sustainable finance regulatory landscape across the UK, Europe and Asia, and broader market developments, as well as a panel discussion on Thailand’s readiness to align policies and business practices with international sustainability standards.

Strategic Partnership

The forum is a key initiative under a sustainability agreement signed by Lombard Odier and KAsset in February 2024. The strategic partnership is designed to «elevate Thailand’s sustainable investment standards to align with international benchmarks,» with the Swiss bank serving as a consulting partner to support the Thai asset manager in formulating strategies and developing sustainable investment offerings tailored to the local market.

«At Lombard Odier, we view sustainability as fundamental to long-term value creation. Our collaboration with KAsset reflects a shared vision to embed sustainability into locally relevant investment strategies,» commented Hubert Keller, senior managing partner at Lombard Odier.

Dr. Pipatpong Poshyanonda, KAsset board chairman and KBank chairman, added that the forum aims to «foster meaningful exchange of global and local perspectives on sustainability, which has become a core principle in business and investment worldwide», noting the growing influence of ESG standards, particularly in Europe and Asia, on institutional decision-making.
