Lombard Odier Hires Southeast Asia Market Head from DBS

The Swiss private bank is expanding its team in Singapore and has appointed a new head of the Southeast Asia market.

Lombard Odier has appointed Edwin Tan as head of the Southeast Asia market, effective July 13. This move further expands the bank’s leadership team and client service capabilities in Asia, according to a statement released on Tuesday.

Tan brings nearly three decades of industry experience to the role, the statement added. He is moving from DBS to Lombard Odier, where he most recently served as head of markets for Thailand, the Philippines, and Vietnam. During his tenure, he played a central role in rebuilding DBS Thailand’s onshore business and expanding the talent pool in key markets such as the Philippines and Thailand. Previously, he held senior positions at Credit Suisse, Siam Commercial Bank – Julius Bär, and Deutsche Bank, underscoring his extensive leadership experience in the wealth management industry in Asia.

Edwin Tan will be based in Singapore and will report to Omar Shokur, Regional Head of Private Clients for Asia. He will be responsible for building and leading a new market team for Southeast Asia, thereby supporting Lombard Odier as it continues to invest in the region.

«Lombard Odier is in full expansion mode in Asia and the appointment of Edwin reflects our continued commitment to investing in senior industry talent to drive this growth», says Shokur.

Southeast Asia remains a key strategic priority for the bank.
