DBS appoints new boards member

A seasoned Singapore business leader with decades of experience in professional services, governance and board leadership has joined the boards of DBS Group Holdings and DBS Bank.

DBS Group Holdings has appointed Gautam Banerjee to the boards of DBS Group Holdings and DBS Bank, effective Wednesday.

Banerjee, chairman and senior managing director of Blackstone Singapore, brings decades of experience in professional services, corporate governance and board leadership. He spent more than 30 years at PricewaterhouseCoopers, including nine years as executive chairman of PwC Singapore, before retiring in 2012.

He currently serves on the boards of Singapore Telecommunications and GIC Private Limited. His previous board roles include Singapore Airlines, Piramal Enterprises and Singapore’s Defence Science and Technology Agency. He also previously chaired the Singapore Centre for Social Enterprise.

DBS Chairman Peter Seah said Banerjee’s experience in governance, risk oversight and long-term value creation would strengthen the bank’s board as it operates in an increasingly complex environment.

The appointment adds to DBS’s board-level expertise as the Singapore-based bank continues to focus on sustainable growth and risk management.
