China’s President is reportedly scheduled to make his first post-Covid visit to the mainland’s financial capital.

Chinese President Xi Jinping will visit Shanghai on Tuesday, according to an «SCMP» report citing unnamed sources. The trip is scheduled for three days with plans to visit the Shanghai Futures Exchange and some tech firms.

This will mark Xi's first trip to Shanghai since 2021, though his final plans are still subject to change. The Chinese financial capital had just kicked off its post-Covid reopening in mid-2022 following a strict two-month lockdown.

The Shanghai visit follows a high-profile meeting with US President Joe Biden earlier this month in San Francisco.
