Allianz has hired a new regional chief executive officer for Asia Pacific, who will be responsible for the P&L and functional development of Allianz’s Property & Casualty business in the region.

Allianz on Thursday announced the appointment of Claudia Salem as its new Chief Executive Office, Property & Casualty for Asia Pacific, effective 1 March.

She will be based in Allianz's Singapore office, reporting to the Allianz Asia Pacific Regional CEO and serve as a member of the Allianz Asia Pacific Regional Executive Board. In a press release, the firm noted that Salem will be responsible for the P&L and functional development of Allianz’s Property & Casualty business in the region, including its long-term bancassurance relationship with Standard Chartered Bank. 

Stronger Growth

«Claudia Salem is an accomplished leader with extensive insurance and management experience, and she will be a great asset for Allianz as we continue to drive stronger growth and profitability in the region,» Allianz Asia Pacific Regional CEO George Satorel said.

Salem's 15-year career in the business has seen her serve in various leadership roles across operations management, business development and customer solutions, most recently as Singapore CEO and Head of Southeast Asia at American multinational finance and insurance corporation AIG.
