People interested in participating at the conference need to apply online for a place and will be vetted by a committee of eight crypto investors and industry experts, including conference founder Tobias Reichmuth, investor Marc Bernegger, finance expert Eric Sarasin and Daniel Gutenberg. The conference organizers expect to cap the number of participants at about 200.

After conferences in St. Moritz, Geneva and San Francisco, the organizers also plan an event in Asia next year, Bernegger told finews.asia. «We will decide the venue after our conference in St. Moritz in early 2019.» So far the founders are exploring opportunities in Singapore and Hong Kong.

Virtual Finance Instruments

The Crypto Finance Conference sees itself as the world’s leading investor conference on cryptocurrencies and blockchain investments, bringing together institutional investors and wealthy investors interested in taking stakes in crypto- and blockchain-technology ventures. The first St. Moritz event was covered by finews.asia.

The speakers will give insights into virtual financial instruments, showcase trends and give insights about the industry’s perspectives. Promising business models and investment opportunities will be presented to the rich investors, family offices, funds and wealth managers. The conference organizers aim to provide a thorough insight of an industry and help participants to network.

Backing From the Regulator

Last week, Crypto Fund became the first Swiss crypto asset manager to win backing from Switzerland's finance regulator, as finews.asia reported exklusively. The landmark move illustrates how digital assets are breaking through to traditional finance.

«Singapore is the next natural expansion step for us,» CEO Jan Brzezek told finews.asia. The firm gauges interest for crypto investments as very high, and has also registered a willingness by Singaporean regulators to oversee the business.

Former UBS Banker

«This makes the market very similar to the Swiss one, which we know well,» Brzezek, a former UBS banker, said. Crypto Finance, the fund's parent, plans to set up a booth at Singapore's annual fintech festival in November.
