Processes that used to previously take up to three minutes for a single trade will now be handled in bulk by chatbots in real-time.

BNY Mellon and Deutsche Bank are incorporating a new chatbot solution. The innovation will take the place of manual responses on customers securities trades on the messaging platform Symphony, Deutsche said in a media statement.

Born in Singapore

The prototype was created in a 24-hour hackathon by BNY Mellon’s Singapore innovation centre team in November 2017. The institutions expect the chatbot to chatbot solution will soon be rolled out in other markets.

The banks claim the jointly developed solution will see an effective and seamlessness flow of information for clients trading securities on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
