Credit Suisse Nurtures Future Asian Clientele

Credit Suisse presents itself as the bank of choice for Asia's entrepreneurs. With a program it sponsored in Singapore this month, the company hopes to nurture the next generation of customers.

Credit Suisse is the headline sponsor of Young Founders School (Yfs), a non-profit organization focusing on tech education. Yfs is trying to change the way entrepreneurial education is taught to secondary school students.

At a Yfs bootcamp in Singapore on March 3 and 4, 30 students aged between 11 and 17 pitched their business ideas to seasoned venture capitalist judges.

Developing Entrepreneurship

The winning idea was a cyber bullying support app, which would allow affected individuals to chat with counselors anonymously. The winning team of three students, eXcape, received $1,000 towards the further development of their app.

Yfs was founded in Hong Kong in 2016 by Credit Suisse employee Billy Naveed, the bank's co-head of hedge fund sales and equities digitization lead, who works with startups and tech investors across Asia.
