Artificial intelligence and regtech dominate the latest tranche of fintechs to join the Standard Chartered and SuperCharger innovation program.

In its most recent uptake of aspiring financial technology firms, artificial intelligence is the most popular technology, whilst regtech is now showing significant traction, Supercharger said in a press release.

Ten companies selected join the third program which was announced at the Hong Kong Fintech Finals 2018. The majority are revenue-generating, mature-stage companies seeking to expand into Asia. A record number of 277 aspirants from 43 countries originally entered the fray.

Track Record Growing

The finalists will participate in a 12-week curriculum, during which they will gain access to expert advice in market developments, obligations and investment opportunities, as well as the chance to be spotted by Standard Chartered. Tech heavyweights Amazon Web Services, Microsoft and Temenos are also supporting partners.

The first round of supercharger fintech accelerator was launched in January 2016. Success stories include the $71 million in capital investment that MicroCred secured for its expansion in China and the development of their internet finance strategy.
