The former head of UBS's financial technology innovation lab has launched his own fintech firm.

Alex Batlin who was a founding head of the Swiss firms financial technology innovation lab has established his own fintech firm, Trustology.

Batlin left UBS in October 2016 ending an almost 15-year stint at Switzerland's largest bank. Batlin, an IT scientist, joined UBS in 2001 after working as a consultant at UBS Warburg. In the following years, he rose within the ranks of the investment bank.

Most recently Batlin had been responsible for research and development of blockchain enabled business strategy, business models, products and services at BNY Mellon in London.
