Malaysia's Maybank announced a change of chief executive officer and other senior appointments in its Singapore operations.

John Lee Hin Hock who is currently group chief risk officer will assume the post of chief executive officer Maybank Singapore effective December 1 2017, while Gilbert Kohnke has taken on the role of group chief risk officer.

Lee will take over from Lim Hong Tat, the current CEO of Maybank Singapore the bank said in a press release. Lee's appointment includes responsibility for the entire spectrum of operations in Maybank Singapore, which is one of the banks three home markets.

Prior to joining Maybank, he held positions in financial services consulting and advisory, including 13 years as a partner with KPMG. He was also with Amanah Merchant Bank and the Kuala Lumpur Options and Financial Futures Exchange.

In his new position Kohnke will take over from Lee and will be responsible for leading the group risk transformation. Before joining Maybank, Kohnke was group chief risk officer, Danske Bank based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Prior to that he served as group chief risk officer, OCBC Bank, based in Singapore for nine years, where he led similar risk transformations.
