Liquidnet has appointed a new head of Sales for Asia Pacific.

Institutional trading network Liquidnet confirmed the promotion of Tristan Baldwin to head of Sales for Liquidnet Asia Pacific. As finews.asia initially reported last week Baldwin, who is based in Hong Kong, will be responsible for managing sales teams in Hong Kong, Japan, Australia and Singapore.

He previously spent four years as the head of Australia in Liquidnet’s Sydney office. Baldwin has more than 17 years of experience on the sell-side, including roles in equity trading and client management.

Prior to Liquidnet, he worked at Instinet in Sydney where he was an Equity Trader. He also held various positions at UBS and Deutsche Bank. In the enhanced role he will report to the head of Asia Pacific, Lee Porter, the firm said in a statement.

Liquidnet recently announced the appointment of Murrough O’Brien as the new head of its Australian business. Murrough joined Liquidnet from TradingScreen, where he was a director and head of Australia and New Zealand. Prior to that role he was head of electronic trading for Australia and New Zealand at Citigroup.
