Bank of Singapore Appoints ASEAN Market Group Head
Bank of Singapore has appointed veteran private banker Aline Pacheco as market group head for ASEAN, expanding its leadership team as the private bank steps up its growth efforts in the region.
Aline Pacheco will join the bank on Oct. 12 and will also oversee coverage of the Philippines, where she will be responsible for driving a coordinated market strategy and business plan. Based in Singapore, she will report to Vi Sun Yang, head of private banking for ASEAN.
Pacheco brings more than 25 years of private banking and leadership experience, with a focus on advising ultra-high-net-worth and high-net-worth clients in Asia and providing investment solutions across asset classes.
Joins From Julius Baer
She joins from Julius Baer Singapore, where she served as group head for Southeast Asia and led a team of 30 relationship managers and assistant relationship managers. Earlier in her career, she held senior roles at UBS, including market team head for the Philippines, head of equities for Asia-Pacific and head of direct access clients advisory for Asia-Pacific.
Her appointment follows Yang's move into the role of head of private banking, ASEAN, effective June 29, and forms part of Bank of Singapore's broader hiring push in the region.
The bank also recently announced the appointment of Cecil Yeo as market group head for ASEAN, effective Dec. 7. Yeo will be responsible for coverage of Thailand.
The appointments come as Bank of Singapore seeks to strengthen its ASEAN franchise, which the bank describes as its largest market and a key pillar of its growth strategy,.

Yang said Pacheco's experience would support the bank's efforts to accelerate growth in its ASEAN business and strengthen its leadership team.
