Bank of Singapore Hires Julius Baer Veteran

Bank of Singapore has recruited veteran private banker Ankit Swaika from Julius Baer as it continues to strengthen its Global South Asia franchise and expand its coverage of wealthy Indian clients.

Bank of Singapore has appointed Ankit Swaika as Team Head, Global South Asia, effective November 2, 2026. Based in Singapore, he will report to Zubin Dabu, Market Group Head, Middle East, Global South Asia and International.

The appointment is part of the private bank’s continued investment in its Global South Asia business, with a particular focus on non-resident Indian (NRI), ultra-high-net-worth and high-net-worth clients.

Swaika brings more than 25 years of experience in private banking and investment advisory. A CFA charterholder, his background spans client relationship management, investment advisory, structuring solutions, family office advisory and global market research.

Nearly a decade at Julius Baer

Swaika joins Bank of Singapore from Julius Baer in Singapore, where he spent almost a decade as a Senior Private Banker. In that role, he covered UHNW and HNW clients across Asia, the Middle East and Europe.

Before joining Julius Baer, he was a Senior Investment Advisor at ANZ Singapore, serving clients across Southeast Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Earlier in his career, Swaika held senior positions at private wealth institutions in the UK and Asia, including as Head of Investments, Advisory and Family Office.

Hiring drive continues

His arrival is the latest in a series of senior hires by Bank of Singapore as it builds out its Global South Asia franchise under Dabu.

Swaika’s appointment follows the recruitment of Yatish Aron, who is set to join the private bank as Team Head, Global South Asia, on October 12, 2026.

Over the past year, Bank of Singapore has also hired Bikram Sen as Market Head, Global South Asia. Other additions include Priyanka Maheshwari from HSBC Private Bank, Dinesh Chaudhary from Julius Baer and Ritika Patel from UBS.

The latest appointments underscore the intensifying competition among Singapore’s private banks for wealthy South Asian and NRI clients, a segment that has become an increasingly important source of growth for the region’s wealth management industry.
