UOB Hong Kong Names New Head of Corporate Banking
UOB Hong Kong has appointed Cliff Law as its new Head of Corporate Banking, effective immediately, the bank announced on Thursday. He succeeds Anthony Tse in the role.
Based in Hong Kong, Cliff Law will be responsible for shaping and executing the bank’s corporate banking strategy, with a focus on expanding the franchise and strengthening support for cross-border business flows between China and ASEAN markets. The appointment underscores UOB Hong Kong’s push to capture growing regional trade and investment opportunities, it says in a statement.
Law will report jointly to Adaline Zheng, Chief Executive Officer of UOB Hong Kong, and Edmund Leong.
With more than 20 years of banking experience across Hong Kong and mainland China, Law brings deep expertise in corporate finance and cross-border transactions. Prior to joining UOB, he served as General Manager of Corporate Banking at a Hong Kong-based lender, where he oversaw client coverage, credit analysis and customer service for a broad portfolio including China corporates, financial institutions and real estate groups.
Earlier in his career, Law spent over two decades at a multinational bank, holding senior leadership roles spanning loan syndications and financing solutions. His experience includes structuring and underwriting large-scale China-related deals, as well as managing investor relations and risk oversight.
In a statement, Zheng said Law’s appointment aligns with the bank’s regional growth strategy. «As we deepen our focus on China–ASEAN business opportunities, Cliff’s extensive experience will strengthen our ability to support clients’ cross-border ambitions and connect them to growth opportunities across ASEAN through UOB’s regional network,» she said.
Zheng also thanked Anthony Tse for his decade-long service, crediting him with strengthening the bank’s corporate banking franchise and advancing its strategic priorities.
Law holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Finance from University of New South Wales and has completed executive programmes at Fudan University and the Cisco Fudan Stanford Supply Chain Leadership Institute.
