CCB and Swissmem Strengthen Ties at Conference in Shanghai
At the CNC Machine Tool Fair (CCMT) in Shanghai, the China Construction Bank (CCB) and the Swiss association Swissmem celebrated the economic and financial cooperation between the two countries at a conference.
The occasion marks the 76th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Switzerland, as well as the 10th anniversary of the strategic partnership between CCB (Zurich) and Swissmem, the Swiss Association of the Machinery, Electrical, and Metal Industries.
Under the theme «Boundless Smart Manufacturing, Connecting China and Switzerland,» the event aimed to promote the deep integration of advanced manufacturing and the financial sectors of both countries and to support Swiss technology companies in tapping into new market opportunities in China, according to a statement from CCB.
Participants included high-ranking representatives from the People’s Bank of China (PBOC), the Swiss Embassy in China, the Shanghai Municipal Government, the senior management of China Construction Bank, and executives from over 80 companies in the Swiss MEM industry.
Presentations and Company Roadshows
The platform offered Swiss exhibitors such as the Starrag Tornos Group, United Machining Solutions, and Fraisa AG the opportunity to give thematic presentations, host company roadshows, participate in B2B matchmaking, and network with Chinese business partners. In addition, the conference was intended to contribute to supporting the upgrade process of the China-Switzerland Free Trade Agreement.
In addition, CCB presented its cross-border financial services. Based on the Swiss RMB Clearing Center, which has been operated by CCB Zurich on behalf of the PBOC since 2016, as well as the extensive network of nearly 15,000 CCB branches in China, the bank is able to offer Swiss companies comprehensive end-to-end support, the statement continued.
«Thanks to our headquarters’ strong global network, the Zurich branch is able to offer Swiss companies high-quality, integrated product and service solutions in renminbi and other currencies,» said Bo Wang, General Manager of the CCB Zurich Branch. «We are fully committed to supporting the business expansion of Swiss companies in China, thereby contributing to the future enhancement of economic and trade cooperation between our two countries.»
