Partners Group Strengthens Healthcare Team with Private Equity Veteran

The Zug-based asset manager Partners Group has appointed Pete Zippelius as Co-Head of its Private Equity Health & Life business. The private equity specialist is currently an Investment Partner at Leonard Green & Partners.

According to a statement released on Wednesday, Pete Zippelius will join the firm’s US headquarters in September 2026. He will take on the role of Co-Head alongside Benjamin Breier, who has been with Partners Group since 2022.

Zippelius brings more than two decades of experience in private equity and investment banking. Most recently, he served as an Investment Partner at Leonard Green & Partners, where he was responsible for healthcare investments totaling around 8 billion dollar. He was also a member of key committees such as the Investment and Operating Committee and played an important role in building the firm’s organizational structure.

Previously, he held senior roles in investment banking, including positions at J.P. Morgan, Deutsche Bank and Morgan Stanley, with a focus on healthcare transactions.

Growth Driver in the Healthcare Sector

According to the company, Partners Group has for years been deliberately focusing on the healthcare sector as a structural growth driver. Themes such as demographic change, innovation and the transformation of healthcare systems continue to offer attractive investment opportunities from the firm’s perspective. «Pete Zippelius brings deep sector expertise and a strong track record in building and scaling companies,» said Wolf Scheider, Head of Private Equity at Partners Group.

Expansion of the Global Platform

The Private Equity Health & Life business comprises around 40 investment professionals across Europe, the United States and Asia and is part of Partners Group’s global private equity platform, which manages a total of 86 billion dollar in assets. The latest appointment is part of a series of reinforcements to the leadership team. Most recently, Partners Group also appointed new Co-Heads for the Technology and Goods & Products sectors. Nicholas Smith Wang is the new Co-Head of Private Equity Technology, and Tarak Mehta for Private Equity Goods & Products.
