Citi Launches New Korea Desk in the US
US lender Citi will expand its coverage of corporate clients from Korea with the launch of a new desk in Chicago.
Citi has launched a new Korea desk in Chicago to expand its on-the-ground financial support for Korean corporate clients entering the North American market, according to a statement. The desk adds to Citi's existing US coverage of Korean corporates with an inaugural desk in New York opened in 1993. It also has Korea desks supporting banking clients in London, Prague, Dubai, Singapore, Warsaw, Chennai, Hong Kong, Atlanta and Monterrey.
According to Citi, Korean corporate clients are rapidly expanding their presence across North America in diverse industries, including manufacturing, power, semiconductors, and services. As more companies establish production and sales bases throughout the United States, their business activities are no longer confined to specific regions but are increasingly distributed across North America.
«Citi Korea has a long history of supporting Korean corporate clients by seamlessly connecting the financial operations of their headquarters in Korea with those of their overseas subsidiaries through our Korea Desks in key global markets,» said Kyoungho Kim, head of corporate banking group at Citi Korea.
«The launch of the Chicago Korea Desk further extends this vital capability in North America, providing robust support for Korean corporate clients operating in the US Midwest as they navigate and manage their funding and financial transactions consistently within the local financial environment.»
