Citi Promotes Asia Corporate Banker to Global Role
New York-headquartered Citi has announced a series of leadership changes to its corporate banking business, including the elevation of a top Asia executive.
Citi has made several changes to the leadership of its corporate banking unit, according to an internal memo. Jason Rekate and John Chirico will become global chairs of corporate banking and investment banking, respectively, while reporting to Viswas Raghavan, Citi’s head of banking and executive vice chair.
In addition, Marcelo Marangon and Kaleem Rizvi have been appointed as co-heads of corporate banking as well as members of the banking executive team and banking operating team, while also reporting to Raghavan.
Marangon, current chief country officer of Brazil, will relocate to New York for the new role to assume day-to-day oversight of corporate banking in the Americas. Rizvi will transition from his current role as head of corporate banking for JANA (Japan, Asia North, Australia) and relocate from Hong Kong to London to assume day-to-day oversight of corporate banking across UK, Europe, MEA and Asia.
The bank will initiate searches for Marangon and Rizvi’s previous roles in due course.
