UBS Launches High Net Worth Hiring Spree in Hong Kong
Swiss financial titan UBS will hire dozens of private bankers in Hong Kong this year with a focus on the high net worth segment.
UBS plans to hire about 50 private bankers for its wealth management business in Hong Kong, according to a «Bloomberg» report citing the unit’s Asia Pacific co-head Amy Lo.
«A lot of the hiring will be focused on high net-worth because for the last few years, we’ve been focusing so much on ultra-high net worth and billionaires,» Lo said, adding that the North Asia business delivered a record year in revenue.
Onshore Expansion
In addition, the bank is looking to «selectively» expand its onshore wealth team in mainland China, which has around 200 staff across front and back office positions, as well as seek partnerships in the domestic market.
In 2025, UBS’ APAC unit attracted $62.5 billion in net new assets (NNA) – the most of any region. The bank has also announced new targets, including the goal of growing invested assets in the wealth business globally to at least $5.5 trillion with NNA of over $200 billion by 2028.
