UBS Celebrates Handover of New Hong Kong HQ
Swiss banking titan UBS celebrated the handover of its new Hong Kong headquarters in West Kowloon.
UBS celebrated the official handover of its new Hong Kong office located at the International Gateway Centre in West Kowloon, according to a statement. The 14-storey building will act as the Swiss bank’s Hong Kong headquarters with plans to bring together staff currently spread across five offices, including Two IFC and One Peking Road, in the fourth quarter.
The office is located near the West Kowloon High Speed Rail station, which boasts a 14-minute ride to Shenzhen. This is a strategic move for the bank to increase connectivity and deepen market coverage of the Greater Bay Area, an 11-city cluster in Southern China.
«This city has been a core part of UBS’ Asia-Pacific business for more than six decades, and this new office represents our deep and continued commitment to its future. Bringing all our teams together under one roof will allow us to collaborate more effectively and create a workplace where our people can thrive,» said Iqbal Khan, APAC president and wealth management co-president at UBS.
«Hong Kong’s role as an international hub continues to strengthen, underpinned by its unrivalled connectivity to the Greater Bay Area – one of the most dynamic economic regions in the world. We are investing here for the long term, and we are excited about what this next chapter means for our clients, our people, and for UBS.»
