Rémy Savoya: «Financing Companies Is in Our DNA»
Entrepreneurs are often sceptical of banks. Rémy Savoya of BIL Suisse has built his career doing the opposite – earning their trust. In an interview with finews.tv, he explains how the Swiss arm of Luxembourg-based BIL Group has expanded beyond private banking into corporate banking and lending by focusing on long-term relationships.
The Swiss subsidiary of Luxembourg-based BIL Group is more than a traditional private bank. For several years now, the institution has also been offering services in corporate banking and lending.
The timing is favourable. Following the disappearance of Credit Suisse, many companies are actively seeking new banking partners. This is precisely where BIL Suisse’s service offering comes into play, as Rémy Savoya, Head of Global Advisory, explains in an interview with finews.tv. «Financing companies is in our DNA,» he emphasises.
Savoya sees particularly strong opportunities in the mid-cap segment, where many banks tend to focus primarily on large corporates. «With our parent company behind us – backed by a strong balance sheet and a top-tier credit rating – we can provide attractive financing solutions and position ourselves as a credible alternative across a broad range of corporate banking services,» he notes.
High Degree of Reliability
Long-standing client relationships are key, many of which originate in private banking. As a mid-sized bank in Switzerland, BIL offers clients direct access to decision-makers, with credit and advisory teams working closely together.
«This results in a high degree of reliability,» Savoya stresses. From this foundation emerge M&A transactions, including strategic acquisitions and capital increases. In addition, BIL supports entrepreneurs in monetising their wealth – much of which is typically tied up in their operating businesses.
Continued Expansion
With new senior hires and a continued expansion of its service offering, BIL Suisse aims to further grow this strategically important business line for Switzerland’s corporate landscape in the coming year.
