Airwallex has acquired majority ownership of PT Skye Sab Indonesia, a PJP Category 1 licensed payments company, marking a strategic move to strengthen its regulatory footprint and accelerate regional growth.
The acquisition enables Indonesian merchants to leverage Airwallex’s global financial infrastructure, facilitating cross-border expansion and providing international companies with a smoother path into Indonesia’s rapidly growing market.
Airwallex currently operates across major Asia-Pacific hubs, including Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, South Korea, Singapore, and Vietnam.
Fuelled by Fresh Capital and AI Investment
The announcement follows Airwallex’s recent $330 million Series G fundraise at an $8 billion valuation – roughly 30 percent above its previous round – supporting its growth strategy and AI-driven product roadmap.
The company is rolling out specialised agents designed to streamline financial workflows and improve the accuracy of cross-border transactions.

Airwallex continues to scale at pace, reporting a 180 percent year-on-year revenue increase and a 94 percent rise in transaction volume in Southeast Asia for Q3 2025.
