UBS Links Young Singapore Racers With F1 Icon George Russell

Ahead of the upcoming Formula One weekend in Singapore, UBS connected young racing talents in the city-state with iconic British driver George Russell.

UBS hosted a roundtable on October 1 between aspiring young racing talents in Singapore and George Russell, Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team driver and a global brand ambassador for the Swiss bank, according to a statement. The event occurred ahead of the F1 Singapore Grand Prix weekend scheduled for October 3 to 5.

«UBS is proud to support and inspire the next generation of racing talent in Singapore by offering them a unique opportunity to meet and engage with George Russell,» said Young Jin Yee, co-head UBS Global Wealth Management Asia Pacific and country head UBS Singapore.

Supporting Next Generation Talent

According to Russell, he first began racing when he was eight years old and joined a junior program run by Mercedes.

«The biggest takeaway from the program was how it gave me a chance to perform and fulfil my true potential. That is why I strongly believe in supporting the next generation of racers,» he added.

UBS has been the partner of the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team since 2011 and it renewed the partnership in 2024.
