BlackRock to Launch ETF Platform in Taiwan
Asset management giant BlackRock will launch an exchange-traded fund platform in Taiwan in response to growing local investor demand.
BlackRock plans to establish an iShares exchange-traded fund (ETF) platform locally in Taiwan, according to a statement. The first Taiwan-listed ETF will be open for subscription from September 30 to October 3.
«BlackRock has served clients in Taiwan for more than two decades, managing assets across wealth and pensions,» said Tiffany Hsieh, BlackRock’s head of Taiwan.
«Taiwan’s capital markets are rapidly aligning with international standards, and investors’ demand for professional and diversified products is growing stronger. Taiwan is also home to a deep pool of talent, technology applications and digital finance, which supports the development of the kinds of innovative financial products that we can develop and provide.»
Regional Offering
In the broader Asia Pacific region, iShares has more than 100 locally listed ETFs across Australia, Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore. Globally, the firm has over 1,600 listed ETFs.
«Taiwan’s vibrant ETF ecosystem is rapidly evolving, it has a sophisticated and engaged investor base, and an openness to innovative products and diversified strategies. This aligns closely with our global experience and product strengths,» added Aarti Angara, head of APAC global product solutions at BlackRock.
