KGI Bank Opens First Overseas Branch in Hong Kong

Taipei-headquartered KGI Bank has opened its first overseas branch in Hong Kong, which will focus on wealth management services.

KGI Bank has officially opened its Hong Kong branch, according to a statement, marking the Taiwanese lender’s inaugural overseas presence.

The branch will focus on cross-border capital management and financing services with wealth management being one of its key priorities. This includes offering services to high net worth individuals and family offices, such as Lombard lending. The bank will also collaborate with other subsidiaries of parent KGI Financial, including KGI Securities and CDIB Capital, as part of its «One KGI» strategy.

KGI Bank’s Hong Kong branch is located at Three Pacific Place in Admiralty.

Onshore Private Banking

Back in its home market of Taiwan, KGI Bank has also obtained approval for a Wealth Management 2.0 license from local regulator Financial Supervisory Commission and is actively preparing to establish a presence in the newly established Kaohsiung Asset Management Hub.
