German insurer Munich Re will relocate its staff in Singapore to a brand new office in late 2023 with a focus on a hybrid working approach.

Munich Re will move its Singapore office to 18 Cross Street by the fourth quarter of 2023, according to a statement. The German insurer will occupy two floors in the new office which will be designed with a focus on «Munich Re’s Together@Work hybrid working approach».

The office will house Munich Re Singapore, as well as Munich Re Syndicate Singapore Pte Limited, Munich Re Automation Solutions Pte Limited and HSB Singapore.

«We will bring the Munich Re family together under one roof,» said Tobias Frenz, chief executive of the Munich Re Singapore branch. «With Singapore being a strategic regional hub for Munich Re, the new office will play an integral role in our regional network, connecting our businesses across Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa.»

Sustainable Building

According to Munich Re, the new office building will incorporate ESG (environmental, social and governance) standards with the aim of meeting certain sustainability requirements including the Green Mark Platinum, WELL Platinum and Smart Score Platinum criteria.

Upon completion, the building will feature sustainable materials, solar panels and rainwater harvesting systems as well as end-of-trip facilities.
