More merchants in Singapore could be ready to accept cryptocurrencies as payment following the addition of the latest member to DBS Digital Exchange.

FOMO Pay joins DBS Digital Exchange, according to a statement, enabling its merchant clients to accept crypto payments moving forward.

«With our efforts in building a comprehensive and compliant digital payment solution, we will be able to help our merchants adopt and accept crypto payments from their customers in a safe and risk-free manner,» said FOMO Pay chief executive Louis Liu.

«Ultimately, this will lead to greater assurance and adoption of crypto as a form of payment method that will fit into Singapore's vision to be a global crypto hub.»

FOMO Pay

FOMO Pay was founded by ex-Visa executive Liu in 2015 to connect merchants to digital payment methods like e-wallets and credit cards.

Today, its client base has grown to over 10,000 merchants across retail, telecom, tourism and hospitality, food and beverage, education and e-commerce industries.

Earlier this month, FOMO Pay secured a license from the Monetary Authority of Singapore to facilities transactions with digital payment tokens, including cryptocurrencies, amongst other regulated functions.
