BNY Mellon named its country head of Australia who will be responsible for providing the overall strategic direction for the firm's investment management business in the market. 

Asset management firm BNY Mellon has appointed Paul Bolionowsky as country head for Australia, according to an announcement on Monday.

Bolinowsky, who brings over 20 years’ experience in Australia’s investment management industry, joins from boutique asset manager Glennon Capital, where was most recently its chief executive. He was previously managing director and head of institutional sales at UBS Asset Management Australia; country manager, Pioneer Investments, Australia; and head of distribution at Alliance Bernstein, Australia.

Based in Sydney, Bolinowsky reports to Deborah Bannon, head of institutional distribution Asia Pacific ex-Japan and head of consultant relations, Asia Pacific.

Bolinowsky will work closely with clients and prospects to grow the firm's business in the institutional market, while also looking at strategic opportunities in other channels, the announcement said.
