The firm has announced several initiatives to deepen its involvement in Singapore’s digital and financial ecosystem.

Global investment management firm BNY Mellon has joined the ASEAN Financial Innovation Network (AFIN) as an advisor to the board through representation on the Strategic Advisory Council (SAC), the firm announced in a press release on Friday.

Hans Brown, global head of innovation, will represent BNY Mellon on the SAC.

AFIN, established in 2018, is a non-profit network established in 2018 by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), the World Bank Group’s International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the ASEAN Bankers Association. It aims to help banks across ASEAN to collaborate with FinTechs and bring financial access to underserved segments through its API Exchange (APIX) ecosystem.

«We are excited to deepen our relationships with MAS and other financial leaders to drive innovation and collaboration,» said Roman Regelman, BNY Mellon head of digital, adding that the firm can help strengthen and contribute to the dialogue influencing the evolution of the financial sector.

The firm will also host a tour of its Singapore Innovation Center and participate in panel discussions at the Singapore FinTech Festival (SFF), which will take place from 11 to 15 November.
