Goldman Sachs Appoints Asia M&A Co-Heads

Goldman Sachs has appointed its Asia ex-Japan co-heads of mergers and acquisitions via the promotion of the leading duo in its technology, media and telecoms business.

Raghav Maliah and Jung Min have been appointed in the new role following the retirement of the former regional M&A head John Kim.

«This commitment of senior bankers to our M&A franchise, with their deep experience across industries and geographies, will strategically align our team to capture the anticipated growth in merger activity in [Asia ex-Japan],» a «Reuters» report quoted from an internal memo.

Maliah joined the bank in 2000 and became a partner in 2010. He is also the global vice chairman of Goldman Sachs’s investment banking business. Min became a partner at the bank in 2016 and was recently named co-chief operating officer of the bank’s TMT unit.

As of the end of the third quarter, Goldman Sachs ranked second in the Asia ex-Japan M&A league table with deals under its advice totaling $108.4 billion, according to Refinitiv.
