Goldman’s 2025 MD Promotions Hits Four-Year High
New York-based Goldman Sachs has unveiled the largest class of managing directors since 2021.
Goldman Sachs has promoted 638 individuals across 54 offices to become managing directors as of 1 January 2026, according to a statement. This marks the largest class of top promotions since 2021, when 643 managing directors were named.
The Americas accounted for the largest portion of new managing directors at 358, followed by EMEA (159) and Asia (78 in APAC and 43 in Bengaluru and Hyderabad).
«The Managing Director Class of 2025 comprises leaders at Goldman Sachs who have made a significant impact on our business and our people. They have helped strengthen our core franchises, with a focus on serving our clients with excellence and operating at scale, while leading and developing strong teams globally,» the bank remarked.
