The forthcoming Binance Blockchain Week in Singapore will see top blockchain engineers vie for a share of a $100,000 prize pool at a hackathon focused on crypto security.

Binance has announced that it will hold a hackathon at its inaugural Binance Blockchain Week in Singapore from 19 to 22 January 2019, and has placed $100,000 prize pool in Binance Coin (BNB) on the table for winners, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange said in a press release Friday.

The two-day SAFU (Secured Assets for Users) Hackathon will see blockchain engineers rapidly prototype blockchain-based tools that help enhance the security of crypto assets. Apart from the prize pool, the organizers cited potential access to incubation programs run by Binance Labs and the Singapore government-backed blockchain accelerator Tribe Accelerator.

The Binance Blockchain Week also includes the two-day Binance Conference that is expected to bring together 2,000 industry leaders from blockchain and related fields «to discuss today’s blockchain ecosystem and encourage sustainable growth in the industry.»

Among the 70 speakers at the conference are Eric van Miltenburg, senior vice president of global operations, Ripple; Justin Sun, founder, TRON; Da Hongfei, founder, NEO; Patrick Dai, founder, Qtum; and Binance founder and CEO Changpeng Zhao.
