OCBC said customers will be able carry out everyday banking activities using just their voices – a first for Singapore.

Singapore's second largest bank is offering retail banking customers to check their bank account balances, outstanding credit card balances and details, and make instant e-payments through Siri, Apple’s virtual assistant, OCBC said in a statement on Friday.

The e-payments can be made instantly to any bank account in Singapore, including bank accounts not linked to the nationwide peer-to-peer funds transfer service PayNow. The voice banking innovation, developed by OCBC in-house, is available to customers using iPhone on iOS11 software and the latest versions of the OCBC apps.
