Prudential Singapore announced a five-year agreement with the Monetary Authority of Singapore to be a main sponsor of the Singapore Fintech Festival through 2022.

The sponsorship agreement comes after a week that has seen record crowds and participation from financial technology firms from around the globe in what is being called «The Davos of Fintech». This year's event even got the royal seal of approval with the presence of Queen Máxima of the Netherlands.

Wilf Blackburn, chief executive officer of Prudential Singapore, said that the company sees its sponsorship of the Singapore Fintech Festival (SFF) as an opportunity to contribute to the development and growth of the financial ecosystem. The new deal underpins the company’s commitment to fostering a culture of innovation among financial institutions, fintechs and regulators globally.

Proactive Mover

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) can also plan ahead, being praised as one of the most forward thinking financial regulators.

Prudential was a main sponsor of the 2017 edition of SFF and a mentor to fintechs participating in the 'Global Fintech Hackcelerator'. The company introduced several new digital solutions at the festival including a machine which can make claims assessments in seconds and a blockchain-based digital trade platform for small and medium-sized enterprises.
