Manulife Appoints Chief Information Officer for Asia
Manulife has promoted Andy Bruce to chief information officer of Manulife Asia, effective October 1, as the insurer looks to strengthen its technology leadership and accelerate digital transformation across the region.
Andy Bruce previously served as chief information officer for Manulife’s Hong Kong and Macau operations, where he oversaw one of the company’s largest technology delivery portfolios in the market. During his tenure, he led efforts to improve operational stability and risk management while advancing modernization and artificial intelligence initiatives, it says in a statement.
He also developed partnerships across Manulife’s business and regional technology organizations and was recognized internally for his strategic leadership, collaborative approach and focus on building high-performing teams.
Strengthen Digital Capabilities
“Andy is a proven technology leader with a strong track record of execution, innovation and talent development,” Steve Finch, president and CEO of Manulife Asia, said in a statement. “He combines deep knowledge of our business with the ability to turn strategy into meaningful outcomes.”
In his expanded role, Bruce will help Manulife strengthen its digital capabilities, scale the responsible use of AI across its operations and develop more connected experiences for customers and employees across Asia, according to the company.
The appointment comes as financial services companies continue to invest heavily in technology and AI to modernize operations, manage risk and improve customer experiences.
Manulife said the move is part of its broader effort to build a high-performing technology and operations organization to support growth in Asia and globally.
