Alea Names Head of Europe to Lead Expansion Push

International insurance broker Alea has appointed Eric Lasaygues as its new Head of Europe, signaling an ambitious step forward in its global expansion strategy following the acquisition of a French broker license and the launch of a Paris office.

Eric Lasaygues, who will be based in Paris, is tasked with overseeing the company’s European operations, with a focus on driving business development, forging strategic partnerships, and strengthening ties between European and Asian markets. His role will center on serving globally mobile professionals, expatriates, entrepreneurs, and small-to-medium-sized enterprises navigating complex international insurance needs.

The move comes as Alea deepens its commitment to the growing population of internationally mobile clients, including an estimated 3 million French citizens living abroad. The company is also positioning itself as a key intermediary for cross-border insurance solutions, supported by its role as an official representative of the Caisse des Français de l’Étranger (CFE).

«Alea is entering a new phase of growth in Europe,» said Amelie Dionne-Charest, co-founder and CEO of Alea. «Eric’s international experience and leadership make him the right choice to accelerate our development and strengthen our ability to deliver high-quality, transparent insurance solutions.»

Lasaygues brings three decades of experience across finance, actuarial science, and insurance brokerage. His career includes senior roles at BNP Paribas Cardif, where he led teams across multiple continents, and a period as co-founder of brokerage network CBP, which expanded across Europe and Southeast Asia. More recently, he served as Deputy CEO at Kereis, overseeing European operations, and held a position on the executive committee of CNP Assurances during its strategic partnership with La Banque Postale.

In a statement, Lasaygues said he was joining Alea at a «pivotal moment,» highlighting the firm’s reputation in Asia for combining digital innovation with personalized advisory services. «I look forward to building strong partnerships and delivering sophisticated insurance solutions tailored to the needs of European clients,» he said.

A certified member of the French Institut des Actuaires, Lasaygues holds a degree in economics and statistics from ENSAE Institut Polytechnique de Paris and is fluent in four languages.

The appointment underscores Alea’s broader ambition to establish itself as a leading global broker bridging Europe and Asia, as demand rises for flexible, cross-border insurance services in an increasingly mobile world.
