Crypto.com: Ethereum Leads Adoption Growth in 2025
The number of cryptocurrency owners continues to rise with Ethereum leading adoption in 2025, according to a report by Crypto.com.
The number of global cryptocurrency owners increased by 12.4 percent from 659 million in 2024 to 741 million in 2025, according to Crypto.com's annual «Crypto Market Sizing Report for 2025». Ethereum led adoption with the number of owners growing 22.6 percent to 175 million, compared to Bitcoin which saw ownership rise 8.3 percent to 365 million.
The report cited pro-crypto policies in the US as a driver, including the decision to position Bitcoin as a strategic asset by establishing a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve and a Digital Asset Stockpile. The second half of 2025 was further bolstered by the growth of public companies’ digital asset treasuries and the development of real-world asset tokenization.
