Hong Kong-Switzerland Financial Dialogue Hosted in Bern

Hong Kong and Switzerland held a dialogue in Bern aimed at fostering financial services collaboration between the two markets.

The eighth Hong Kong-Switzerland Financial Dialogue was held in Bern, Switzerland, on January 29, according to a statement. The event was co-organized by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and the State Secretariat for International Finance (SIF) under the Federal Department of Finance of Switzerland.

The dialogue was chaired by HKMA deputy chief Darryl Chan and SIF deputy state secretary Christoph König with participation from other representatives from the Swiss National Bank, the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority and the HKMA. Discussions covered regional and domestic outlook and policy challenges, as well as the latest developments and potential areas of collaboration in sustainable finance, fintech, and market connectivity.

In addition, a financial seminar was co-hosted after the dialogue by the Swiss Bankers Association and the Hong Kong Private Wealth Management Association. Views were exchanged on the latest trends and developments in Switzerland and Hong Kong, including the use of AI in banking, digital assets, cross-border opportunities and challenges, and exploration of opportunities for further collaboration.
