BI: Hong Kong Likely to Outperform Consensus Fee Forecast

Fuelled by growth in wealth-related income, Hong Kong banks are likely to outperform the consensus fee expectations, according to a report by Bloomberg Intelligence.

Hong Kong banks are likely to outpace the consensus forecast of «low teens» fee growth in 2026, according to a Bloomberg Intelligence report authored by analysts Francis Chan and Sharnie Wong. Wealth fee growth is estimated to exceed 20 percent across fund sales, brokerage income and bancassurance.

The report cited several factors for the positive outlook, including rising inflows from new mainland Chinese migrants and visitors into higher-yielding bancassurance products, momentum from initial public offerings and «firm» risk appetite from expectations of Fed rate cuts and optimism in the artificial intelligence build-out.
