Telco-Insurtech Alliance Targets Protection Gap
Orange Poland has partnered with global insurtech Bolttech to launch «Insure with Orange», a digital insurance comparison platform that marks the first time a telecom operator in Poland has entered the insurance aggregation space.
The move positions Orange to extend its digital ecosystem beyond connectivity, while giving consumers a faster and more transparent way to buy insurance, according to a media release issued on Monday.
Built on Bolttech’s technology, «Insure with Orange» allows customers to compare motor and home insurance offers from a curated panel of insurers, select coverage tailored to their needs, and complete the purchase online within minutes. Bolttech is a Singapore-based company.
For customers who prefer human interaction, phone-based agent support remains available, blending digital efficiency with assisted distribution.
Monetising digital reach and trust
For Orange, the platform leverages its large customer base, strong brand trust, and established digital channels to create new revenue streams without taking balance-sheet insurance risk. For Bolttech, the partnership reinforces its embedded insurance strategy, using non-traditional distributors such as telcos to bring insurance closer to everyday consumer touchpoints.
The launch reflects a broader European trend in which telecom operators, retailers, and platforms are embedding financial and protection products into their ecosystems. By lowering friction in comparison and purchase, such models aim to close the protection gap while improving customer engagement and lifetime value.
Scalability Baked Into Platform Roadmap
Orange and Bolttech indicated that «Insure with Orange» is designed to evolve, with plans to expand the range of insurance products and services available. This suggests potential future extensions into other personal lines or value-added protection services, depending on customer demand and regulatory alignment.
