HKEX Charity Run Features Top Industry Leaders

Some of the most senior financial executives in Hong Kong took part in a charity run organized by the local exchange.

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) hosted the «Community Chest HKEX Gong Run» in collaboration with non-profit organization Community Chest Hong Kong, marking the grand finale of the exchange’s 25th anniversary celebration.

According to a statement, the short-distance relay race event on Sunday raised HK$9.7 million ($1.3 million), which will be allocated to more than 160 social welfare member agencies of the Chest with a focus on six areas. They include children and youth, elderly, family and child welfare, medical and health, rehabilitation and aftercare, and community development.

Financial Heavyweights

The charity run featured participation from over 400 officials, business leaders and market participants across the financial sector and beyond. This included senior members at the HKEX, Securities and Futures Commission, J.P. Morgan, DBS, Standard Chartered and more.

The Community Chest HKEX Gong Run embodies this spirit of collaboration and shared purpose,» said HKEX chairman Carlson Tong.
