China Reportedly Released Wells Fargo Banker

An exit ban has been lifted on a Wells Fargo banker in China around two months after reports first surfaced that she was blocked from leaving the country.

Wells Fargo banker Mao Chenyue has been released by China, according to a «Bloomberg» report citing unnamed sources. She was first blocked from leaving the country in July when authorities said she was involved in a criminal case that was under investigation without providing details.

Mao is a US citizen and one of Wells Fargo's top trade financing bankers. In June, she was also appointed as the chairman of FCI, a global network of companies that do business in the factoring and financing of trade receivables.

Following her exit ban, San Francisco-based Wells Fargo restricted other employees from visiting China.
